IC Museum of Bećarac in Pleternica – from next year an unavoidable tourist spot of this part of Slavonia
Construction works on the second phase of the project for the construction of the Interpretation Center Museum of the Bećarac in Pleternica, worth around 8 million kuna, began in March this year and should be completed during the summer months. This project of great importance for the city of Pleternica, but also the tourist offer of Požega-Slavonia County and the whole of Slavonia, was visited this morning by Požega-Slavonia County Antonija Jozić and Pleternica Mayor Marija Šarić with associates and representatives of contractors Presoflex gradnja d.o.o.
After the infrastructural equipping of the museum, the exhibition worth around 11 million kuna will be built, and the City is optimistic that the museum could be open to visitors by the end of the year. The Bećarac Museum will be a contemporary museum that will use modern techniques to present traditional heritage. The total area of the museum will be 1,400 square meters. The works are financed through the World of Graševina project worth almost 66 million kuna.
Mayor Šarić announces that a souvenir shop will soon open in the neighboring area on Trg bećarca, where traditional products will be offered – from souvenirs that will present the local cultural heritage, to local products from the Pleternica area.
Prefect Jozić points out that the World of Graševina, along with agglomerations, is the largest project in the county. In addition to the Interpretation Center in Pleternica, it also includes the modernization and equipping of the Spahija Cellar in Pakrac. Through the project, education and professional training will be conducted and a management structure will be established that will manage the centers and visitors and promote the new brand of the Graševina World.
The project applicant is the City of Pakrac, and the partners are the City of Pleternica, Požega-Slavonia County, the Museum of the City of Pakrac, the City Library of Pakrac, the Tourist Board of Požega-Slavonia County and the Public Institution Pleternica.
